The laying of the foundation stone for the new hotel construction and renovation of the Villa Wiesental in St.Gallen took place today - in the presence of the city president Maria Pappa, the former city president Thomas Scheitlin, the managing director of the pension fund of the city of St.Gallen, René Menet, the architect Roger Boltshauser and Marcel Walker as representative of the future hotel operating company. HRS - which developed the area and is currently also responsible for the realisation of the construction and renovation work - was represented by CEO Martin Kull and Executive Board member Reto Hörler. "Good things come to those who wait," says Reto Hörler happily. "Since 2005, planning has taken place on the site, which we concretised together with the pension fund of the city of St. Gallen from 2017 onwards and can now implement ready for execution."

The joint project of HRS and the Aurora Investment Foundation, which is wholly owned by the Pension Fund of the City of St.Gallen, consists of a new hotel building with around 100 rooms and the professional renovation of the venerable Villa Wiesental on Rosenbergstrasse. The costs for the new building and the renovation of the villa are estimated at CHF 31.5 million.
